Photograph: Blinded Survivor of the 1993 Srebrenica Children Massacre

This is a photograph of a child victim – survivor of the April 1993 Srebrenica Children Massacre. Unfortunately, you cannot see his eyes. Shrapnel from a mortar had swept away this boy’s eyes and blinded him. The boy’s name is Sead Bekric and he was 12 years old at the time of the massacre. This tragey occured in April of 1993, more than two years before the July 1995 Srebrenica genocide.
