Nermin Divovic - 7-year-old Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) boy killed by Serb sniper in the besieged Sarajevo (Bosnian Genocide)
With activism, good things are bound to happen. Upon reading one of 1200 posts on the Bosnian Genocide Blog, a friend of Bosnia – Chris Mathieu – republished on his blog one of articles we originally scanned, retyped and salvaged from the dusty pages of history. The article (dated 20 November 1994, p. 16A) details a killing of a Bosniak child Nermin Divovic.
The child was killed by one of many Serbian snipers who terrorized the besieged Sarajevo from April 1992 to January 1996 – the longest siege of any capital in the modern European history. We have decided to republish Chris’ honorable appeal to help parents of this innocent Bosniak child victim. We hope that everybody will donate few dollars to help us remember one of 1,600 Sarajevo children killed by Serbs in the besieged Bosnian capital. To donate, scroll down.

This is an appeal to help the family of Nermin Divovic who was shot and killed by a Serbian Sniper in Sarajevo in 1994. Nermin was killed while walking with his mother during the war. The family is too poor to pay for a proper headstone marker and almsost twenty years later Nermin’s headstone is the same wooden board set up during the war. Help give this poor child a decent final resting place and a little money to help the family. I am hoping to raise $500 for the family $350 for the headstone and the rest for the family. I would like to find a way to buy them something sustainable that will continue to generate revenue or food for them something like a sewing machine, or some small farm animals that will help the family…
